Got a 2014 Cooper S that’s started making that classic knocking over bumps and I’m fairly handy with a wrench, did the brakes and coolant flush myself no problem, but suspension feels like a different beast and I’m genuinely torn because the parts aren’t crazy expensive but the spring compressor and alignment part has me second guessing everything. I started looking up control arms and strut assemblies online while my wife’s been subtly hinting I should just take it to someone who knows these cars properly, and I ended up comparing a few places including a Mini Cooper Suspension Workshop Dubai that seems to walk you through the diagnosis without instantly pushing a full rebuild, which honestly appeals to the part of me that just wants it sorted right the first time. I’m stuck between the pride of doing it myself and the fear of messing up a safety critical part, so I guess I’m asking if anyone here actually tackled their Mini’s front end in a home garage and whether you regret not just paying the expert, or if it’s doable for someone who’s not a full mechanic.
