Is it just me or does the heat wreck sunroofs here?

I’m starting to think the summer heat in Abu Dhabi is the biggest enemy of car sunroofs. My Lexus has been garage-kept for most of its life, and I’ve still started noticing that the sliding mechanism feels really sluggish when I try to open it. It doesn’t make a horrible grinding noise, but it’s definitely not as smooth as it was a year ago, and I’m worried it might just get stuck completely one day. I’ve been browsing around trying to find a reliable place that knows what they’re doing with this kind of stuff, and I came across some information about seeking out Certified Car Sunroof Repair in Abu Dhabi to avoid making things worse. I guess my real question is, are there preventative things I should be doing, like lubricating the tracks, or is this just one of those issues where you have to wait for it to break and then pay through the nose to fix it? I’d rather be proactive than deal with a leaky roof when the rains come.
