What should I consider before installing a garage attic lift system?

I am planning to make better use of the attic space above my garage, but access has always been a problem. The attic is useful for storing things that I do not need regularly, yet moving bulky boxes through the small access opening is frustrating. I have started researching a garage attic lift as a possible solution.

While comparing different options, I came across Ace Garage Storage. Has anyone here used their equipment for moving storage items between a garage and attic? I am especially interested in real experiences regarding installation, operation, and durability.

My main question is whether a garage attic lift can handle the type of items people normally keep in an attic. I would want to move plastic storage containers, suitcases, seasonal decorations, and possibly some moderately heavy tools. Is there a particular weight capacity I should look for?

I am also curious about the platform dimensions. Does a larger platform make loading easier, or can a compact lift be more practical for a typical residential garage?

For anyone who has researched an attic lift system, what structural considerations should be checked first? I assume the ceiling joists and attic flooring need to support the installation and stored load, but I would like to understand what should be inspected before purchasing anything.

Has anyone worked with Ace Garage Storage and found their installation instructions easy to follow? I am comfortable with basic DIY projects but would consider professional installation if the setup is complicated.

Would an attic lift system significantly improve your storage setup, or is it only worthwhile when the attic is used frequently?
