Okay so I just got off the phone with them again and my heart is still racing. This is maybe the 5th call in two weeks about a debt I honestly don’t even recognize. The person on the line was pretty pushy and kept saying they’d “escalate” things if I didn’t pay immediately.

I’ll be real - I almost just gave them my card info to make it stop. But something felt off, you know? So I told them I needed everything in writing first. They didn’t love that answer.

A few things I’m wondering:

Has anyone successfully gotten them to prove the debt is actually theirs to collect?

They mentioned fees that I’m pretty sure weren’t in my original agreement - can they do that?

I also read something about calling at work being a violation - they called my office twice before I told them to stop.

I’m honestly pretty stressed about this. Part of me just wants to pay it and move on, but another part feels like I’m being taken advantage of.
